Residential Beautification Project of the Month: Deborah Kerr & Curtis Smith

Beautify Barren County would like to congratulate Deborah Kerr and Curtis Smith, recipients of our Residential Beautification Project of the Month.

About two years ago, Deborah and Curtis saw the potential in a home in Eighty Eight and began a full renovation. Today, the home has been transformed with a distinctive French rustic style and thoughtful details throughout.

The black siding is softened by white window and door trim, while stained wood accents and window planters add warmth and character. The front porch, once simple concrete, has been transformed with beautiful rockwork that wraps around the home. Greenery, seasonal decorations, and carefully planned landscaping complete the exterior and create a striking view from the road.

The improvements continue beyond what passersby can see. Deborah and Curtis also added a water feature, creating a peaceful outdoor space that adds even more character to the property.

Projects like this show how individual homeowners can make a lasting difference in the appearance of a neighborhood and the community as a whole.

Thank you to Deborah and Curtis for investing in their home, their community, and the beauty of Barren County.
